Founded in 1847, it has always been a successful and innovative company, which today has over 140 brands in its portfolio, such as some of the most iconic beer brands.

Throughout its 173 years of existence, our client has always known how to remain innovative and at the forefront of technology.

In a world that is changing faster and faster, where information is produced on an unprecedented scale and decisions are made in real time, our customer needed a center of excellence (CoE) for Big Data and related areas.

With this need in mind, it launched a market consultation and chose Boost IT as a partner and Portugal as a destination for the CoE.

Challenge

The challenge was to create platforms and digital solutions to support the business based on a common technological framework that ensures security and scalability worldwide.

Also, to recruit a team of about 60 members, in areas such as DevOps, Scrum Master, PMO, UX/UI, Backend & Frontend Development and QA.

The technology core is based on technologies such as Azure, .NET, SiteCore, SAP Hybris, SAP ABAP, Java, Angular, VueJS and ReactJS.

In order to create new functionalities and features, the applications created by the team in Portugal are interconnected with all Carlsberg Core systems, also with other e-Commerce platforms such as Sap Hybris (eCommerce & CRM Platform) and Sitecore (CMS & CRM Platform).

Solution

Creation of several digital platforms that created differentiation in the market and places our customer ahead of the competition when it comes to the Digital Channel.

Our client demonstrates its ability to support its partners intimately and closely, enabling it to adjust whenever necessary and make real-time decisions with high reliability and security.

Ability to analyze consumption patterns and adjust production to these patterns.

Bringing food consumption closer to on-demand production, which is particularly important for business.

Use of the new digital platforms that supported Carlsberg by strengthening the presence and sales in the digital channel during the Covid-19 period.

Outcome

  • Possibility to scale new digital solutions on a global scale ensuring applicability, security and reliability in different markets;
  • Enable better management of stock and the entire value chain;
  • Increased ROI and also the reduction of the time to market of new ideas;
  • In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the fact that our client has a team of this size and working actively in the digital part made it possible to bring resources to new business ideas, as were the cases of online stores;
  • Making online stores available to customers who would not have found it easy to make their own, was the right strategy, so that by grouping them, the project was given scale and made possible with great success.
