BOOST IT, a company owned by Nexus Capital, has opened a Nearshore Center and technology hub in Oporto to address current and future national and international projects.

The space will house highly qualified and specialised technological teams, which will assist national clients in the centre and north of the country, and also support the company's international projects.

With numerous national and international projects linked to the Digital Transformation, Software Development, e-Commerce and Cloud & Analytics sectors, Boost IT is currently hiring, wants to take advantage of the region's talent and hopes to close the year with 50 people in this new Porto unit.

At a global level, in the engineering area, the goal is to end 2022 with more than 350 employees at BOOST IT.

Tiago Soares, business director of the new Nearshore Center, explains that "this strategic decision to invest in Oporto is crucial for the levels of quality and efficiency that we guarantee, and for the kind of proximity partnership that we insist on maintaining with our clients".

"Portugal is a small country. Remote working removes borders and distances, but our working model still involves close and constant monitoring of our clients. This centre will allow us to offer an even higher quality service, and to explore new national and international business opportunities more easily."

Similarly to what exists in Lisbon, BOOST IT will also promote a close connection with the academic world in the centre and north of Portugal, and establish partnerships and synergies with universities and technological centres. In addition, it will play an active role in the technological communities and in the organisation of MeetUps.

BOOST IT ended 2021 with revenues exceeding 13 million euros, a figure that represents a growth of 77.4% compared to 2020. The company expects to end 2022 with a turnover of 17.5M€.
